Hi, Liz
We are looking to make the move as a family to Cumbria. Currently Andrew, our youngest, is working toward his Grade 3 Keyboard, has taught himself piano and is currently a member of Dudley Performing Arts Keyboard Ensemble http://www.dudley.gov.uk/education-and-learning/extra-curricular-activities/dudley-performing-arts (run by his perapetetic music teacher) and is set to perform at Birmingham's Symphony Hall next year.
Membership of this group, and the above concert, is making him very reluctant to leave the Midlands. Is there anything similar in Cumbria that he could join? We are hoping to move to either Keswick or Cockermouth schools (if we can get a place).
Yvonne.

Just wondering if there was going to be a topic on samba.

Not in the near future - although it's a good idea.
We're currently producing new multimedia content for Tin Whistle and Carnival of the Animals....and there's lots more exciting stuff on the way too!

The djembe drumming resources have been fantastic and the year 3s I've used them with have not only gained drumming knowledge and expertise but have also reaped the rewards of all the composition, improvisation, movement links. This was borne out when I observed a student teach an unrelated lesson to them. They demonstrated a high level of ability to devlop their own rhythmic and movement ideas working as a group. This far exceeded the kind of standard I have seen at the end of previous music work.
Now I would really like to introduce a Y5/6 wider opps type teaching programme using guitars to provide the Upper Juniors with their own wider opportunities. Is this something that Tuned-in may be looking at developing? Would be interested to hear of any related material from the tuned-in site/team.
Many thanks,
Kirsty
